HOW TO ORDER
$2.50 per pound of hanging weight plus butcher costs puts premium meat in your freezer at about $4.65 per pound.
Our Herefords are ready for harvest August through October. We are currently taking orders. We encourage cow-pooling.
ABOUT COW-POOLING
You do not have to buy an entire beef to have the experience of knowing where your meat comes from, how it is raised, with customized cutting and packaging. Cow-pooling is a growing trend. Join with your family, friends or neighbors to purchase an entire animal and divide the steaks, roasts and burger amongst yourselves. Premium, custom, grass-fed beef at a reasonable price. You do need a freezer. A quarter beef requires 3.5 to 5 cubic feet of freezer space. A half beef requires a 7.5 to 10 cubic foot chest freezer.
We sell animals by hanging weight in quarters, halves or whole. Hanging weight is a beef carcass after slaughter, before aging and cutting into steaks, roasts and burger.
We are charging $2.50 per pound of hanging weight this year, plus butcher costs. Animals vary in weight, however we expect an average hanging weight of 650-750 pounds.
Butcher costs are separate and include a kill charge, plus cut and wrap fees. This varies by location and we will work with you if you have a preference. We deliver your animal to the butcher. Final payment to us is due upon notification of hanging weight.
Our butcher of choice in the Metro area is Jacobsmuhlen's Custom Processing in Cornelius. At their website, www.jacobsmuhlensmeats.com
you will find information on butchering, weights, cuts and diagrams. We also recommend Tillamook Meat for our local customers: 503-842-4802.
